๐ WELCOME TO A WONDERFUL TEAM๐
โญ๏ธ YEAR ONE โญ๏ธ
Year One’s success is no incident. It is hard work, independence, perseverance, creativity, gratitude, learning, loving, sharing, growing, challenge and celebrating... But most of all it is learning to love what we do, with โค๏ธJesus โค๏ธat the very core of everything.
Here’s what some of our y1 children said they like about being in y1...
“I like the books we read...”
”I love the different topics we learn about, like animals.”
“I’ve loved all the new books in Literacy...and I like the Fairy Tale book we wrote”
“I love Maths because I like the challenges”
In year one we enjoy a huge range of topics in our learning. We enjoy working in teams, learning groups and independently. We love learning creatively, through role play, small world, and through books we like to read!
please take a look at our โญ๏ธclass dojo pageโญ๏ธ to see what we’ve been up to.
Here are a few photos that show what Year One is like... ๐๐

Welcome to Year 1!
Miss Wright is your Class teacher and Mrs Davies is our Teaching Assistant.
On Thursday afternoons, Mr. Wilock will teach you PE, and Mrs Hurst also comes into Year 1 to teach RE on Wednesday afternoons. :) On Wednesday afternoons you will also get bonus time with Mrs Davies our Teaching Assistant, where she will teach SEALS and Phonics.
This year will be a little different to begin with. We will be staying in our Classroom Bubble for most of the day. Some of our teacher tables are arranged in rows, facing the teacher, and some are in groups for our independent jobs.
We will be eating our meals in class and not going up to the hall.
The playground will be split in half and we will play on the Year 1 side, with our own playtime equipment.
An overview of our different topics are attached below, as is the Parent Welcome Meeting Information.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
