Home Learning - Summer 1
A huge thank you to all families who are doing a fantastic job home learning at this unusual time!
The class dojo system is working really well and it has been lovely to see all of the photos to show how you are engaging with a wide variety of activities whilst home learning.
I have set up a home learning overview, it outlines weekly and daily learning opportunities to support you further. Where possible there is a direct web link to tasks across all areas of the curriculum, I hope this helps.
A new literacy resource has been purchased to support you with this area of the curriculum when home learning. There is a weekly letter and an overview of daily tasks linking video clips and a activities to help you, I will attach these weekly to the class dojo messages.
I'm proud of you all and missing you all, I look forward to our Y4 team being back together. You are all doing an amazing job!!
You are in my thoughts and prayers, stay safe and take care.
Love from Mrs Hitchen.
Welcome to our Year 4 class page. We hope that you find the information on here useful.
Mrs Hitchen and Mrs Mitchell are the class teachers, Mrs Unsworth and Mrs Monaghan are our great teaching assistant and supports the children in year 4 every day of the week. Mrs Hurst teaches music to Year 4 and during music the children will be learning how to play a brass instrument - this has caused great excitement in class.
Mrs Hitchen teaches in year 4 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Mrs Mitchell teaches in year 4 on Monday and Tuesday, whilst Mrs Hitchen works in the office with Mrs Vose.
Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Hitchen have lots of opportunities to talk about the work taking place in class during the week so that they both have a clear view of how the children are progressing.
Spellings homework will be handed out on Monday and collected in on Friday. Homework each week will consist of literacy (handwriting activities included) and numeracy activities which will relate to either the newly acquired skills or to consolidate previous skills. These will be given out on Wednesday or Thursday and collected the following Wednesday. In addition, children will receive Mathletics homework each week. There is always an opportunity for children to come and see us most break and lunch times if they are having difficulties accessing a computer at home.
We appreciate your help and support with these activities at home and we are pleased that the children are completing their homework to a high standard showing dedication and maturity.
P.E. lessons are on Thursday this half term and the children are developing a variety of skills with a P.E. specialist. Please ensure that full P.E. kit is always in school.
Just a reminder about the availability of water in class - it would be great if you could ensure that your child has a water bottle in school everyday. Water bottles need to go home at the end of each day and be returned full of fresh water every morning.
