🙂 WELCOME TO FABULOUS Y4 🙂
Year four is a really hard working fun class to be in. We enjoy a wide range of exciting activities, which celebrate the many gifts, talents and interests of the children in class. We strive to do our best at all times no matter what the challenge.
Should your child need to self-isolate all work will be made available through the ClassDojo, the one drive folder will be shared this way. There is a copy of our Remote Education Policy on the school website.
Mrs Hitchen and Mrs Mitchell are the class teachers and Mrs O'Neil is our great teaching assistant. Mrs Hurst teaches music to Year 4 and during music the children will be learning how to play a brass instrument - this has caused great excitement in class. Miss Hynes teaches MFL to the children each week.
Mrs Hitchen teaches in year 4 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Mrs Mitchell teaches in year 4 on Monday and Tuesday, whilst Mrs Hitchen works in the office with Mrs Vose.
Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Hitchen have lots of opportunities to talk about the work taking place in class during the week so that they both have a clear view of how the children are progressing.
Spellings homework will be handed out on Monday and tested the following Monday, please support your child with this work at home. Homework each week will consist of Mathletics and Reading Plus, this work must be completed at home and this will be monitored in school.
P.E. lessons are on Monday and Thursday and the children are developing a variety of skills with a P.E. and a Dance specialist. Please ensure that your child always comes to school in their P.E. kit on these days.
Just a reminder that there is no access to water fountains in school. Your child must have a large water bottle in school every day. Water bottles need to go home at the end of each day and be returned full of fresh water every morning, the children will not be able to refill their water bottle whilst in school.
Here are some suggested websites for Year 4:
Espresso – Good for research and any further study.
Mathletics – Set maths tasks, directed by teacher.
UNICEF – Information on current Right respecting Schools campaign.
Reading Plus - Try to complete at least 3 tasks per week. Site codes, usernames and passwords sent home.
We look forward to welcoming your children back and resuming a new kind of normal.
Take care
Mrs Hitchen and Mrs Mitchell.
