HOME LEARNING INFORMATION!
A huge thank you to all families who are doing a fantastic job home learning at this unusual and difficult time!
I have loved setting work for everyone and lots of work has been uploaded by parents onto our class dojo system . I have been so happy to see all of the amazing pieces of work that you have been submitting in a range of different activities and subjects.
I will keep setting daily work for everyone to complete but it is not compulsory that these tasks are completed on the given days, just try to complete them whenever you can during the week.
A new literacy resource has been purchased to support you with this area of the curriculum when home learning. There is also a weekly letter and an overview of daily tasks linking video clips and a activities to help you, I will attach these weekly to the class dojo messages. I have been amazed with the standard of work that I have been receiving from you all. Keep it up!
We have also been completing some amazing maths work from white rose maths, with children producing some brilliant reasoning and problem solving tasks to a very high standard.
Our history topic of the Aztecs has allowed us to delve into their culture and our Science topic of Electricity has given us the opportunity to inspect circuits and components.
For PE, keep going with Joe Wicks workouts and PE activities set by Mr Willock on our school twitter page.
Also try to complete our class challenge of vertical jump and send your results to me on class dojo.
I'm proud of you all and missing you all and cannot wait to see all of you again.
Above all, stay safe and take care of each other.
From Mr Atherton
Welcome to our Year 6 class page. We hope you find everything you need, but if not, do feel free to come in to speak to us.
Mr Atherton is our class teacher, Mrs Turner and Mrs Unsworth are our teaching assistants working with us throughout the week, and Mrs Hurst teaches us our music on a Wednesday morning.
Each week, children should aim to have: at least three signatures from a parent or guardian to say they have read at home, completed at least three reading plus activities, and have scored at least 500 points on Mathletics.
PE lessons are on a Thursday afternoon, so please make sure your child brings their PE kit and a water bottle.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
